You may be surprised to learn that more than 40,000 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes last year. According to the National Safety Council (NSC), “the three biggest causes of fatalities on the road are alcohol, speeding, and distracted driving.” [1]

That’s why we’re asking you to join us here at Horizon Family Medical Group to help us promote safe driving in April as we celebrate National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

Take a look at the video below from the NSC to see how people really feel about distracted driving:

What’s startling is that distracted driving is more common that drunk driving. “According to the Centers for Disease Control, 2% of drivers admitted to driving while under the influence in the last month.  In contrast, 69% of drivers admitted to using a cell phone while driving in the last month.” [2]
